Clearwater, FL (December 2, 2019) – On Sunday evening around 6 p.m., police responded to the scene of a fatal accident that took two lives at a Clearwater intersection.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Royal Boulevard and US-19 in Clearwater. Two females lost their lives in the collision, identified as an 84-year-old woman and 69-year-old woman.
The 84-year-old woman driving southbound on the highway in her 2013 Volvo. The other victim was the passenger in the car.
The woman turned left, which is when her Volvo struck a 2011 Audi driven by a 56-year-old man from Palm Harbor. The two collided head-on.
The Florida Highway Patrol said that the 69-year-old woman died at the scene while the driver was taken to the hospital where she passed away due to her injuries.
The driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The investigation into the accident continues.
