Dover, FL (May 15, 2020) – On Thursday, May 14, a 19-year-old man from Lakeland was injured in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident in Dover.
According to police, the accident took place on FL-400 when the man was struck by a vehicle that immediately fled the scene around 10:30 a.m.
The force of the accident caused the motorcycle to propel forward, where it then struck another passenger vehicle. The man from Lakeland was then ejected from his motorcycle.
The vehicle that struck him fled the scene and did not call authorities. Highway Patrol did not yet confirm if they have found the driver responsible.
No other parties were injured. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and remains there at this time.
The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
