Hudson, FL (December 30, 2019) – Around 3 a.m. on Friday morning, police responded to the scene of a fatal bicycle accident at a Hudson intersection.
The accident, according to authorities, took place at the intersection of U.S. Highway 19 and New York Avenue in Hudson. The Florida Highway Patrol investigated.
The accident took place when a 35-year-old female bicyclist was crossing the intersection on her bicycle with her dog alongside her. A 65-year-old man from Texas was headed south and approaching the intersection.
Investigators found that the woman was already crossing the street when she was put in the path of the Dodge truck. The truck driver entered the intersection and collided with the woman.
The woman was hospitalized but tragically passed away. The dog also died at the scene of the accident.
At this time, the investigation into the accident continues.
