Lakeland, FL (February 11, 2020) – Around 12:14 p.m. on Monday afternoon, one person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Lakeland Highlands Road in Lakeland.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision took place at 4000 Lakeland Highlands Road when a road surveyor was standing on the side of the road and was struck by a driver of a pickup truck.
The driver was in a Ford F-150 when they struck the pedestrian since identified as a 42-year-old man. The pedestrian was on the road because he was performing survey work in the area.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he passed away due to his injuries.
The investigation into the accident continues.
