Lakeland, FL (July 31, 2020) – Around 11:30 a.m. this morning, one person was killed in a fatal accident in Lakeland.
Though few details have been released regarding the accident, Lakeland authorities confirmed that at least one person was killed in the accident, which took place between numerous vehicles. The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-4 when two or more vehicles collided, leading to extensive damages. One vehicle was badly smashed in the left lanes while numerous other vehicles were seen in the median.
Paramedics, fire crews, and other responders were present at the scene of the accident. One person was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. It is not known if any parties were injured as a result.
All eastbound lanes of traffic were blocked for an extensive period of time into the morning hours. This led to delays for several hours.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
