North Weeki Wachee, FL (January 15, 2020) – According to police, one person was killed in a fatal bus crash in North Weeki Wachee that took place at a local intersection.
According to police, the accident took place at the intersection of Commercial Way and Bourassa Boulevard when a vehicle collided with the rear end of a school bus.
At the time, the bus was traveling to Winding Waters School with 48 students boarded. The crash took place around 8:40 a.m. when the school bus stopped at the intersection for a pedestrian and the vehicle behind was unable to stop in time.
The 69-year-old man driving the Ford F-150 that struck the bus died at the scene of the collision. Ten children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
At this time, the investigation into the accident continues.
