Palm Harbor, FL (December 17, 2019) – On Monday, December 16, police responded to the scene of a hit-and-run bicycle crash at County Road 1 and Country Woods Lane in Palm Harbor.
Police claim that a 16-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision with another party. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has an ongoing investigation at this time.
Police have confirmed that the accident took place last evening around 5:52 p.m. at the intersection. The bicyclist was crossing the intersection on their bike when he was struck by a Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler was last seen traveling south.
Deputies claim that the vehicle did not stop at the scene of the accident. The teen was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital by medical helicopter with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
