Sarasota, FL (December 1, 2020) – On Sunday morning, November 29, a woman was killed on a roadway in Sarasota.
At the time, an adult woman was driving north on River Road at 5:20 a.m. She was approximately four miles away from work when a woman driving a white Honda crashed into her vehicle head-on. Police confirmed that the vehicle drifted from the southbound lane into the northbound lane.
The woman in the first vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to her severe injuries.
Police later confirmed that calls were made about the Honda saying that the driver was driving erratically in the area before the accident. She also showed signs of impairment at the scene.
Criminal charges are currently pending against the driver of the Honda.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
