Spring Hill, FL (September 22, 2020) – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man was killed in a fatal accident in Spring Hill.
A 45-year-old man from Port Richey was driving his pickup truck on US-19 approaching Pepper Street. At the same time, a 76-year-old man in a pickup truck and an 81-year-old man in a sedan were stopped in the center and inside lane of US-19 because of a red light at the intersection with Pepper Street.
The 45-year-old man rear-ended the pickup truck in front of him and then the sedan, causing severe damages to the vehicles involved. The first pickup truck then overturned and came to a final stop in the intersection. The other drivers were pushed off the roadway and onto the grassy shoulder.
The 45-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The 76-year-old man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and the 81-year-old man was taken with minor injuries.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
