St. Petersburg, FL (July 2, 2020) – Around 1:30 p.m. last afternoon, July 1, a car accident took place at an intersection in St. Petersburg that led to injuries.
Authorities confirmed that two vehicles collided at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 34th Street for reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicles, identified as a gold sedan, was struck on the driver’s side. Fire crews were seen extricating one or more victims from the vehicle.
Fire crews, paramedics, and numerous other responders were present and assisting those with injuries at the scene of the accident. The injured victims were immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.
The roadway was blocked in the westbound lanes of 9th Avenue and northbound lanes of 34th Street for some time until police were able to completely clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
