St. Petersburg, FL (April 13, 2020) – On the night of April 11, a DUI accident took place when a woman crashed into a police officer’s cruiser in St. Petersburg.

The accident allegedly took place on 5th Avenue near the area of 52st Street, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The 53-year-old local woman was driving her Honda Civic when she crashed into the police cruiser. She was arrested on charges of DUI crash with injurie and refusing to submit to testing.

The officer sustained injuries, although he is expected to make a full recovery.

Police continue their investigation into the collision.
