St Petersburg, FL (April 6, 2021) – On Monday, April 5, a motorcyclist was killed following a collision in the St. Petersburg area.
A Toyota Camry reportedly collided with a motorcycle at around 4:35 p.m. A St. Petersburg man was riding a motorcycle southbound on 18th Avenue S. at the time of the deadly accident. At the same time, a Pinellas Park man was driving the Toyota northbound on 34th Street S. The driver of the Toyota made a turn onto 18th Avenue S., entering the path of the motorcyclist.
The rider hit the Camry before hitting another vehicle, causing the bike to catch fire. The motorcyclist was ejected and transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Toyota was also hospitalized.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is underway.
