St. Petersburg, FL (November 11, 2020) – Around 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning, November 11, a multi-vehicle accident with injuries happened in St. Petersburg.
According to Pinellas County officials, the accident took place in the northbound lanes of I-275 around the area of Roosevelt Boulevard. Though few details have been released, it is believed that one or more vehicles lost control in the rainy conditions and slammed into each other near a local construction zone. This led to severe damages in the vehicles involved.
Responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene of the accident to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were hospitalized as a result of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for some time following the collision. Police reduced traffic to one lane in the area.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
