Tampa, FL (January 27, 2020) – Homicide detectives have been investigating a fatal wrong-way collision on Interstate-275 near the entrance to the Tampa International Airport that occurred early in the morning on January 26th.
A 30-year-old man was traveling south on the entrance ramp to the airport when he struck another vehicle.
The driver and passenger in the other vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver was working for a rideshare company, according to the police.
The 30-year-old who caused the accident was charged with DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
Police are continuing their investigation at this time.
