Tampa, FL (January 31, 2020) – Around 7:15 p.m. last night, January 30, a teenager was left with critical injuries following a hit-and-run crash at a Tampa intersection.
Police confirmed that the collision took place at the intersection of 122nd Avenue and 15th Street in Tampa. Hillsborough deputies were called to the scene of the collision.
While there, deputies found that a teenager was walking in the area of the intersection with her friends. The female teenage victim crossed the street when she was struck by a dark-colored SUV.
The driver, identified as a 24-year-old woman from Tampa, got out of her vehicle and checked her vehicle for damages. She then got inside her vehicle and fled the scene.
Police were able to catch the driver, where she was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury.
The teenage victim is in the hospital with critical injuries at this time.
No further details are known but the investigation continues.
