Tampa, FL (December 3, 2020) – Early Thursday morning, December 3, one person was injured in a DUI collision in Tampa.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of FL-400. Police confirmed that the accident involved several vehicles and caused a fire between at least two of the vehicles.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a 36-year-old man with signs of impairment including the smell of alcohol, watery eyes, and more. He took a sobriety test and performed poorly. He has since been arrested for driving under the influence and personal injury.
One person, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was closed down in the area for a short period of time but quickly reopened.
