Winter Garden, FL (February 19, 2020) – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a child and two adults were killed in a fatal crash that took place on FL-429 near Walt Disney World.
According to police, the collision took place last evening, February 18, around 5:30 p.m. Four vehicles were traveling southbound when a pickup truck being driven by 26-year-old Lucas Dos Reis Laurindo rear-ended a Toyota van, causing it to violently overturn.
A family of eight from Massachusetts was inside the van at the time. Two adults died from inside the van, identified as 41-year-old Julie Smith and 76-year-old Josephine Fay. A 5-year-old little girl also passed away at the scene. An 11-year-old was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital in critical condition. The rest sustained minor injuries.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
