Lakeland, FL (June 4, 2020) – Florida Highway Patrol troopers confirmed that one person was killed in a fatal tractor-trailer collision in Lakeland this morning.
The accident, according to police, involved four passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer. The crash took place on I-4 around the area of Kathleen Road.
A 22-year-old woman from Lakeland was traveling on the highway and changed lanes, which is when her vehicle and another collided. Her vehicle was pushed into the cable barrier, where it went into the opposite lane of traffic and collided with a truck.
The woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Numerous other parties were taken to the hospital with injuries.
No further details have been provided but the investigation continues.
